JANAY EUSTACE

Community Engagement Consultant

Janay Eustace is a Sacramento State University Graduate where she received a Master of Social Work Degree and serves as a Clinical Social Worker in the Sacramento Community. Janay helped implement the California Fostering Connections to Success Act. She worked for California Youth Connection (CYC) as a volunteer and employee for many years in many different roles. She also worked for the California Welfare Directors Association (CWDA), working closely with California’s county child welfare agencies in legislation. Janay has worked as a Sacramento County Child Protective Services Social Worker. Janay spent some time at the California Department of Social Services gaining the State perspective as well. Janay currently works at the Youth Law Center as a Quality Parenting Initiative (QPI) Champion and Youth Engagement Lead. QPI is partnering with Freedom Forward and San Francisco's foster care system to support the system in becoming evermore relationship-based and responsive to caregiver and youth input. Further, Janay grew up in the foster care system herself, and is a dedicated advocate and speaker for child welfare reform. Janay was recognized and awarded by California State University, Sacramento as a Raising Star Distinguished Alumni.
